Regulated and Non-Regulated Services
It is important that you understand the difference between our regulated and non-regulated services:
Regulated Services
Some of our activities are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). These are services provided by our solicitor partners, including:
- Legal advice services (provided by qualified solicitors)
- Premium consent order service (solicitor-drafted)
- Regulated legal representation
If you have concerns about regulated services, you can contact the SRA or use their complaints process.
Non-Regulated Services
Our other services are not regulated by the SRA and do not constitute legal advice. These include:
- Consent order drafting services (£499 package)
- Form completion and document preparation
- AI Barrister Review service
- General information and guidance
For non-regulated services, if you are not satisfied with our service, please see our complaints policy.
If you have any questions about whether a specific service is regulated or not, please email us and we’ll be happy to clarify.
Not Legal Advice
The information on this website is for general guidance only and does not constitute legal advice. While we have extensive experience in family law, we cannot advise you on your specific legal position. Every situation is different, and you should consider seeking independent legal advice from a qualified solicitor if you are unsure about your rights or obligations.
Our non-regulated services involve drafting documents based on the information and instructions you provide. We cannot advise you on whether the agreement you’ve reached with your ex-partner is fair or appropriate for your circumstances. The court will make the final decision on whether to approve your consent order.
AI Barrister Review
Our AI Barrister Review service is not regulated and does not constitute legal advice. This automated service has been trained on 20 years of family law case law and the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973. It provides an automated review of your proposed financial settlement based on established legal principles.
The AI review is not a substitute for personalised legal advice from a qualified solicitor. It cannot take into account all the nuances of your individual situation, and you should not rely solely on its output when making important decisions about your finances.
Your Responsibility
When using our services, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete information
- Ensuring your agreement is fair and appropriate for your circumstances
- Checking all documents carefully before signing
- Seeking independent legal advice if you are unsure about anything
- Understanding that we draft documents based on your instructions, but cannot advise whether those instructions are appropriate
Money-Back Guarantee
Our £499 consent order service includes a money-back guarantee. If your consent order is rejected by the court due to an error in our drafting, we will provide a full refund and redraft the order at no additional cost. This guarantee does not apply if rejection is due to the fairness or content of your agreement itself, incomplete information provided, or factors outside our control.
Pricing and Additional Costs
All prices quoted on this website include VAT at 20%. However, please be aware that there may be additional costs:
- Court fees: Some services require payment of court fees directly to the court (for example, the £62 court fee (since July 2026) when submitting a consent order application). Current court fees are available on GOV.UK.
- MIAM attendance: You may need to attend a Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) for certain services, particularly if you cannot agree with your ex-partner and need to apply to court for an order. MIAM fees are payable directly to the mediation service.
We will always make you aware of any additional costs before you proceed with a service.
Data Protection
We take your privacy seriously. Family Legal Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO Registration Number: ZC018853). For information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
Limitation of Liability
While we take every care to ensure our services are provided to a high standard, we cannot accept liability for:
- The court’s decision to approve or reject your consent order
- The fairness or appropriateness of the agreement you have reached
- Losses arising from incomplete or inaccurate information you provide
- Delays in court processing times
- Your ex-partner’s actions or failure to cooperate
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Our services are provided for use in England and Wales only. We cannot assist with divorces or financial orders in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any other jurisdiction. The documents we prepare are designed for use in the family courts of England and Wales under English law.
